Bringing “Accountability and Transparency through Communication” to Public Office

Working with government taxing agencies on behalf of clients revealed many inefficiencies and unfair treatment of taxpayers by government to Ensen, and he resolved to do something about it! In 2010, Ensen challenged the entrenched incumbent Auditor-Controller/Treasurer/Tax Collector (ATC) of San Bernardino County for re-election and lost decisively. Undaunted, he ran against him again in 2014 and was again defeated. The incumbent then retired in 2016, and the Board of Supervisors appointed a career employee from within the agency to replace him. In 2018 Ensen ran for ATC for the third time, and defeated an incumbent holding this office for the first time in the 165 year history of the County.
