What a busy few months it has been!

First of all, most of you know we have been adjusting to the loss of our Executive Director, but I wanted to update you all and make sure you know how much your entire Board of Directors has been working diligently to provide you with the best service we can during this time.  At our last Monthly Networking Luncheon in September, Alisa Chatman resigned as our Board President.  As she shared then, Alisa has been going through many physical issues from a horrible car accident earlier this summer and has needed to step down to concentrate on her own health & physical therapy.  We wish her a SPEEDY recovery!

According to our Chamber Board By-Laws, the President-Elect steps into this position....so effective immediately, I (Stephanie Carnes) will be finishing off this 2017 year before being officially installed as the 2018 Board President in January.  The current Board of Directors continues to amaze me with their dedication and support of this Chamber and I am reminded daily what a great Chamber of Commerce we have here in Highland!

Next, replacing our Executive Director.  After our loss of Nanette, we initiated a Personnel Committee (per our by-laws) to initiate, solicit and interview potential candidates.  We were delighted by SO many submitted resumes and certainly feel we did our due-diligence and narrowing them down for Board interviews.  We are very hopeful with our coming decisions and look forward to sharing all of that with you soon.  Please continue to pray, share good energy or whatever it is that you do!  The Board appreciates your support very much.

And lastly, before you get to the good stuff & events & updates below ;) it is from a very grateful heart that I say thank you to all of you.  Thank you for supporting us, for giving us the space to make mistakes and the space to apologize and make it right.  Thank you for trusting in us to make these hard decisions.   I definitely believe that we are all in this together, that by our community we are all connected and that absolutely there is a light at the end of this tunnel....we are seeing it shine in already, I promise.

The next time you see our amazing Shirley Mulligan, give her a hug or a pat on the back...she has stepped up and in for us to keep the Office phone answered and so much more, and thank a Board member for the endless hours that we are sharing to cover the Office duties while still holding down our own businesses and family life.

Thank you for your continued love and support of this Chamber.

We ARE your partner for growth!

    Stephanie Carnes

    Chamber Board President
